LUCKNOW: Speaking for the first time after ceasefire was declared between India and Pakistan, defence minister
Rajnath Singh on Sunday said, "Under
Operation Sindoor, the military might not only took action against terror launch pads and training centres and enemy's military bases adjacent to the border, but the indignation of
Indian armed forces reached even Rawalpindi, the headquarters of Pakistani military."
Speaking virtually from New Delhi at the inauguration of BrahMos Integration and Testing Facility Centre in Lucknow, Rajnath Singh said, "Pakistan's actions targeted Indian civilian areas, including religious establishments such as temples, gurdwaras and churches. While the Indian military responded with precision and restraint, effectively neutralising Pakistani military installations and terror launch pads and training centres.
"
The minister further explained that Operation Sindoor represented India's political, social and strategic resolve. He highlighted how the operation demonstrated India's strong stance against terrorism and showcased the armed forces' capabilities, bringing justice to families who lost their loved ones to terrorist activities on Indian territory.
Rajnath emphasised that Operation Sindoor proved that terrorists and their supporters are unsafe even across the border when India responds to terrorism.
"Through the surgical strikes after the Uri incident, air strikes after Pulwama attack and now multiple strikes after Pahalgam attack, the world has witnessed what India can do if terror attacks are carried out on its soil. Following the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that this New India will take effective action against terrorism on both sides of the border," he said.
