The Boston Celtics have ended their NBA season after losing to the New York Knicks 119-81 and being eliminated from the NBA playoffs. It has now been revealed that while Jayson Tatum sat out due to an Achilles injury, Jaylen Brown played for the Boston Celtics with a partially torn right meniscus while taking pain-relieving injections. This underscores the lengths NBA players go to in order to give everything for their team on the court.

Jaylen Brown played through knee injury

Talking to reporters after the Friday game, Jaylen Brown said, “I don’t make excuses. Obviously, it’s tough the way we went out like tonight, but the way we finished the year, personally, the way I finished the year, persevering through some physical stuff that I was battling through, I’m proud of our group.”According to ESPN, Brown had received pain injections in his knee since March, and he may need surgery to repair the partially torn right meniscus. The Boston Celtics shooting guard missed three regular-season games due to the injury but bounced back by modifying his playing style despite the pain. He still managed to average 22.1 points and 7.1 rebounds in 36.5 minutes per game.
