CBS announced on Wednesday during CBS Mornings that Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Dallas to face Dak Prescott and the Cowboys on November 27 (Week 13). It is now confirmed that the Dallas Cowboys will host the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day.
This will mark Mahomes’ first time playing in Arlington, Texas, during his illustrous NFL career. Mahomes who hails from Tyler, Texas, just 80 miles east, has played the Cowboys once before, securing a 19-9 victory in Kansas City in 2021, but he did not throw a touchdown in that game.

Prescott also went without a touchdown in the 2021 matchup against Mahomes and the Chiefs. However, he has a better record against Kansas City, throwing two touchdowns in a 28-17 victory at home in 2017 when Mahomes was a rookie and watching from the sidelines. The Chiefs have played on Christmas and Black Friday in recent years but haven't participated in a Thanksgiving game since 2006, when they beat the Broncos 19-10, thanks to Larry Johnson’s 157 rushing yards on 34 carries.
The Cowboys, who always play on Thanksgiving, have a record of 34-22-1 on the holiday and are currently riding a three-game winning streak on Thanksgiving. As of Wednesday morning, these are the announced NFL holiday games for 2025.
